The whole experience was fantastic. The lady on reception when I arrived was very helpful. I was given a room which may well have been an upgrade because it was a quiet evening at the hotel. The room well exceeded what I had expected. It was large and very well laid out with an additional door to block any noise from the corridor. The bottle of water and Cafetiere coffee were a lovely extra. The bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, the staff were friendly and there was a good variety of food choices, The cooked breakfast was the best I have had for a very long time, Thank you to the chef. If you get a chance to walk around the gardens they are beautiful. I used the pool, sauna and outdoor jacuzzi, as it is so dark you can relax and see the stars on a clear night.

Room- My room was on the third floor (there is a lift) and overlooked the golf course. It was lovely and quiet and beautifully decorated. There was plenty of tea, coffee and hot chocolate supplies and the toiletries were lovely. Staff- The staff were great and always helpful. Little things like the newsletter on the breakfast table that listed the days menus and any available spa appointments was lovely to have in the morning. Facilities- The pool was small but always quiet and the outdoor hot tub was fabulous!!!! The spa was lovely and the terrace was a lovely spot to write postcards and read. Food - the breakfast menu was great and the staff were able to be flexible with orders. The kippers and smoked haddock were fabulous.

The hotels location is nothing short of stunning. A beautiful riverside setting with ornamental gardens and golf course and beautiful dog walk routes. We had two rooms so saw two different styles. The first room was extremely well presented and luxurious and the second room was quite dated, this was the dog friendly room so kind of understand, however we’ve stayed in a few dog friendly boutique hotels where there isn’t such a standard change. The food was exceptional, we thoroughly enjoyed our steak dinners and the wonderful breakfast. All the produce was clearly local and was just so well cooked and presented.

I was taken aback by the affordability (perhaps due to an out-of-season visit) and this was only magnified when I arrived to be given a very spacious room. There are large gardens that lead down to a quiet cove on the Helford River, and I nipped down for a pre-breakfast swim (hugely recommend it as a beautiful place for a dip). There are even hanging lines fitted in the bathroom so that you can dry swimming stuff over the bathtub (as well as a lovely shower). Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choices. The whole experience was excellent.

All of the dining experience was of a high standard. Excellent food properly cooked with great service and friendly staff in a nice dining room. Plenty of parking and some electric charging points. We used the pool and sauna which was very pleasant. the hot tub was out of action due to the weather. We know the gardens and golf course from previous visits and can highly recommend the outdoor space. We didn't explore this time due to storm Bert! My wife misplaced her jacket which was located by the hotel and returned very efficiently.
